Summary The protein encoded by this gene is a deubiquitinizing enzyme and possible tumor suppressor. The encoded protein acts on TNF receptor associated factor 6 (TRAF6) to control nuclear factor kappa B expression. However, this gene is downregulated by SNAIL1 in hepatocellular carcinoma cells, contributing to their progression and malignancy. • "Gene OTUD2"
 Preferred Names: ubiquitin thioesterase  OTU1
 Names  HIN-7, HIV-1-induced protease 7, OTU domain containing 2, OTU domain-containing protein 2, YOD1; OTU deubiquinating enzyme 1 homolog ( yeast) , hsHIN7,  DUBA8; OTUD2; PRO0907
Summary Protein ubiquitination controls many intracellular processes, including cell cycle progression, transcriptional activation, and signal transduction. This dynamic process, involving ubiquitin conjugating enzymes and deubiquitinating enzymes, adds and removes ubiquitin. Deubiquitinating enzymes are cysteine proteases that specifically cleave ubiquitin from ubiquitin-conjugated protein substrates. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to a DUB subfamily characterized by an ovarian tumor (OTU) domain. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jan 2013] Expression Broad expression in bone marrow (RPKM 24.5), esophagus (RPKM 15.7) and 23 other tissues See more Orthologs mouse all

Summary This gene encodes a member of the ovarian tumor domain (OTU)-containing subfamily of deubiquitinating enzymes. Deubiquitinating enzymes are primarily involved in removing ubiquitin from proteins targeted for degradation. This protein may function as a negative regulator of the cell cycle in B cells. [provided by RefSeq, Nov 2013] Expression Ubiquitous expression in brain (RPKM 6.6), testis (RPKM 5.6) and 25 other tissues See more Orthologs mouse all

  • "Gene OTUD5"

 DUBA,
Summary This gene encodes a member of the OTU (ovarian tumor) domain-containing cysteine protease superfamily. The OTU domain confers deubiquitinase activity and the encoded protein has been shown to suppress the type I interferon-dependent innate immune response by cleaving the polyubiquitin chain from an essential type I interferon adaptor protein. Cleavage results in disassociation of the adaptor protein from a downstream signaling complex and disruption of the type I interferon signaling cascade. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq, Oct 2008] Expression Ubiquitous expression in brain (RPKM 16.1), spleen (RPKM 14.4) and 25 other tissues See more .

  • "Gene OTUB1"

Also known as OTB1; OTU1; HSPC263 Preferred Names ubiquitin thioesterase OTUB1
Names:  OTU domain, ubiquitin aldehyde binding 1 , OTU domain-containing ubiquitin aldehyde-binding protein 1, OTU-domain Ubal-binding 1, deubiquitinating enzyme OTUB1,
otubain-1, ubiquitin-specific protease otubain 1, ubiquitin-specific-processing protease OTUB1
Summary: The product of this gene is a member of the OTU (ovarian tumor) superfamily of predicted cysteine proteases. The encoded protein is a highly specific ubiquitin iso-peptidase, and cleaves ubiquitin from branched poly-ubiquitin chains but not from ubiquitinated substrates. It interacts with another ubiquitin protease and an E3 ubiquitin ligase that inhibits cytokine gene transcription in the immune system. It is proposed to function in specific ubiquitin-dependent pathways, possibly by providing an editing function for polyubiquitin chain growth. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

  • "Gene OTUB2"
OTUB2 ( 14q32.12), OTB2; OTU2; C14orf137 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/gene/78990
Summary:  This gene encodes one of several deubiquitylating enzymes. Ubiquitin modification of proteins is needed for their stability and function; to reverse the process, deubiquityling enzymes remove ubiquitin. This protein contains an OTU domain and binds Ubal (ubiquitin aldehyde); an active cysteine protease site is present in the OTU domain.
